There's nothing better than a nice cold iced coffee to cool off in the summer heat, but if you are anything like me, you're enjoying cold coffees year round.
This article describes some awesome iced coffee recipes using Nespresso pods and machines. Our mentioned recipes are easy and quick.
With the Nespresso Vertuo Machine and the Nespresso Barista Coffee, you can make coffee-shop quality coffee in the comfort of your home and at a fraction of the price.
To make the Nespresso iced coffee, you will need:
Nespresso pods (Any Flavor)
a Nespresso machine
Milk of choice
But before that, let's introduce you to what an iced Nespresso coffee is.
What is Nespresso Iced coffee?
An iced Nespresso coffee is a cold beverage made from Nespresso coffee capsules. The intense flavor of the coffee is perfectly balanced with notes that match your taste buds because you can choose whichever Nespresso pod flavor.
With the power of choice, making your Nespresso iced coffee is the perfect refresher for any time of day.
Nespresso Iced Coffee contains:
A coffee pod per your taste
3-4 Cubes of Ice
Milk of choice
A sweetener (can be any sugar or coffee syrup)
Which Nespresso pod is suitable for making the best Iced Coffee?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question since everyone's preferences vary. Something special to note is the intensity levels on the Nespresso pods.
Nespresso intensity levels range from 1 to 13. They are based on the concentration of coffee, its body, bitterness, and degree of roasting aimed at producing varying flavors, with light coffees having lower intensities than dark ones.
In other words, the lighter the roast, the lower the intensity number, and the darker the roast, the more intense
Using dark-roasted with an intensity of 8-9 with your Nespresso coffee pods is recommended to enhance your cup of coffee. This is because your iced beverage will contain milk.
If you have a high-intensity Lungo pod, just be cautioned while adding the cold milk because there is a naturally creamy, rich texture.
How to Make Delicious Iced Coffee using a Nespresso Machine
This recipe is perfect for iced coffee lovers! It requires a Nespresso Iced, Coffee Maker. I'm using a Nespresso Vertuo that already has an Aeroccinno milk frother.
The Aeroccino milk frother is not a requirement, but it sure does help making iced coffee with Nespresso machines easier.
This amazing machine is equipped with things you need to prepare Iced Coffee.
We are making our iced coffee with cold milk froth, as we don't want to use hot milk for its preparation.
Are you ready for the step-by-step guide? Dive in!
- Nespresso machine
- Milk frother with a cold froth function
- Nespresso pod per your taste
- Half a cup of choice of milk (120 ml)
- Ice cubes
- Your favorite sweetener (optional)
Turn on your Nespresso machine and ensure the quantity of water is in the reservoir.
Heat your Nespresso machine by running water through the machine by pressing the Lungo button. Bring an empty coffee cup to catch the water.
Take out some milk from the fridge. Pour the milk into Aeroccino milk frother and turn the machine on. Hold the button for 3-5 seconds until the blue circle blinks.
Check out the color of the milk frother. It gives off a red color to make the milk warm. The blue light indicates that it froths cold milk.
Add your Nespresso pod to the machine and press the button. The hot brewed coffee will begin to squeeze out. The Nespresso machine will pour the coffee into your cup.
Add ice cubes to your coffee cup; pour the hot espresso coffee on top of the ice cubes and allow it to blend.
Take your fluffy milk from the Aeroccino milk frother and swirl it around in your glass. Make sure all the milk is mixed well with the foam.
Pour this fluffy and frothy milk on top of your coffee. Your iced coffee is ready to take a sip. You can add some extra things like your favorite sweetener or sprinkle it with some cinnamon, nutmeg, or chocolate shavings.
Selecting the Best Milk for Better Taste.
The better the milk, the better the taste and foam; because this recipe calls for a half cup of milk or 120 ml.
For this recipe, you can use 2% Cow's milk. It adds an extra foaminess and texture that will give you a perfect sensation. If you are lactose intolerant or plant based like me, you can try a dairy-free alternative like soy milk or oat milk (my favorite). These milk alternatives are perfect to use as it froths super easy and tastes delicious at the same time.
Also, if you want to add flavored milk, that will add a taste to your coffee, so just be sure it suits your tastebuds. For example, if you like coconut, almond or oat. It will leave you with a slightly different aftertaste.
No matter what, there are infinite choices you can choose from to make your dream iced coffee by brewing the perfect flavor that suits you.
